This talk centers on the various conceptual and physical elements that constitute the ongoing exhibition dazzled & muddled by KIM Daum. Drawing on these foundations, the conversation will explore how the video work Glare Whisper, Stars, the series of paintings Imprint, and other pieces in the exhibition interact — overlapping, slipping, and operating in relation to one another — as well as the underlying principles that drive the exhibition as a whole. The discussion will then extend further, toward the function and potential of sound as a force that guides the exhibition’s narrative.

In the exhibition dazzled & muddled, KIM Daum set out to document the moments of discord that individuals encounter between the everyday and the ideal, and from there, to design an exhibitionary time and space propelled by emotion and affect.
