Primary Practice Talk - Heaven BAEK

On February 17, 2024, at 3:00 PM, Primary Practice will host a talk by artist Heaven Baek. This talk is organized in conjunction with the release of “Platforms of Reality,” a compilation of Baek Hyunju’s work over the past decade, published by HATJE CANTZ. Through four chapters—Staged Reality, In Reality, Platforms of Reality, and Realising Plaforms—the artist poses questions against conceptualized terms such as public, mass, and community. Furthermore, she explores undetermined territories of individuals and multitude, between terms and concepts, on the backdrop of real and reality. This talk aims to share the artist’s research and artistic methodology, ranging from drawing to video and installation, based on the concept of ‘platforms of reality’ proposed in the book. And it seeks to understand the artist’s work as a practice that permeates society and life.⠀
