JO Hyejin

JO Hyejin is a sculptor based in Seoul. In her practice, she focuses on how members of society behave and on objects as forms that reflect such behaviors. She establishes a cross-referential relationship between motility and sculpture, where objects are produced and consumed according to the needs of society. As such, she established her exploration of the sculptural medium as the motif that drives her work.

She has had six solo exhibitions including Look, Shape, Place(Space Willing N Dealing, Seoul, 2021), Shape, From the Side: Reading Documents(d/ p, Seoul, 2019), and has participated in numerous group exhibitions such as International Typography Biennale 2023 - Open Quotation Marks, Close Quotation Marks(Culture Station Seoul 284, Seoul, 2023), Gangneung international art festival 2022 - tale of a city(Gangneung, 2022), 21st Century Monument-On the Abosulte(Amado Art Space, Seoul, 2021), Salt of the Jungle(Asean Culture House, Busan, 2017), An Illustrated Book of Plants: The flora and its poetic evidences(MMCA, Seoul, 2016)
