The Grotesque, yet Virtuous

The exhibition 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙂𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙨𝙦𝙪𝙚, 𝙮𝙚𝙩 𝙑𝙞𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙤𝙪𝙨 begins with the notion of the “grotesque”—forms that are irregular, atypical, and unfamiliar, often provoking sensations of discomfort or strangeness. The grotesque is grounded in dissonance, abnormality, and the intense collision, opposition, or uneasy coexistence of comedy and tragedy. This sense of violation invites a critical reassessment of today’s norms, prompting an awareness of human conditions from outside the generalized modes of life.
